Description
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course for Parents and Educators
Free 6-Week Program Starting January 27th
This course is only for women.
Welcome to a transformative journey designed to empower parents and educators, especially also for those navigating the challenges of raising or working with children with special needs. This Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course is a unique opportunity to explore the powerful practice of mindfulness, understand its scientific benefits, and integrate it into your daily life to foster a calmer, more compassionate approach to challenges.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the practice of intentionally bringing one’s attention to the present moment with curiosity and non-judgment. It is a skill that helps us cultivate awareness of our thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, allowing us to respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively.
From a neuroscientific perspective, mindfulness works by rewiring the brain through neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to form and reorganize connections in response to new experiences. Regular mindfulness practice has been shown to strengthen the prefrontal cortex, which governs decision-making, focus, and self-regulation, while reducing activity in the amygdala, the brain’s fear and stress response center.
Course Objectives
This 6-week course offers participants tools and techniques to manage stress, enhance emotional regulation, and improve communication while fostering a more compassionate relationship with oneself and others. The course includes:
