As a provider of learning solutions, I offer cognitive and working memory training. Working memory is most important for the brain’s processing capacity. It is vital for concentration, reasoning, learning, and resisting distractions.
Working memory challenges do affect students with different learning needs. Working memory training enables students’ short-term retention and processing of information to perform a task. Working memory is also closely related to our ability to control attention.
I offer working memory training using Cogmed. Cogmed is a brain training program and is the single most scientifically validated method that improves working memory and attention. It is built on research showing that training can enhance working memory, which leads to better concentration in everyday life. Better working memory and attention often lead to better performance of daily tasks, behavior, and other positive outcomes for children and adults.
Cogmed is designed by cognitive neuroscientists and psychologists from the Karolinska Institute. Leading independent research teams worldwide have proven its efficacy in 100+ studies in peer-reviewed journals. The benefits are substantial and long-term regardless of age and condition.
How does it work?
Cogmed is a software-based intervention entailing different visuospatial and verbal tasks that systematically challenge the working memory capacity. The exercises are performed on a computer or tablet in the convenience of the user’s home, school, or workplace.
The selection and design of exercises, their composition, their scheduled distribution, and total time spent on the program play a vital role to achieve results. Cognitive neuroscientists and psychologists have integrated all these aspects into this effective and easily accessible program. By constantly challenging working memory at its limits for an individual, neuroplastic brain changes can occur and improve an individual’s memory and performance.
This program offers a 30 minutes training sessions for 3 or 5 days a week for 40 sessions.
Who is it for?
This training is for anyone who needs to improve their focus, attention and learning ability. This program has an outstanding record for almost 20 years of solid and sustainable results. Professionals worldwide have achieved significant improvements for children, young people, and adults with attention deficits (ADHD), learning difficulties, brain injuries and pediatric cancer survivors. This program leads to better attention and on-task behavior in school or work performance.
I am a certified coach for Cogmed. I will be your coach throughout this training. I work with the trainees in every session and guide them to ensure completion, motivation, and compliance.
Parents feedback of COGMED
Massrat Shaikh was simply amazing with my kids. She has unlimited patience with two very active boys. She is very malleable in her approach to them frequently adapting to changes in the timing and workspace that was available.
She was steadfast with them throughout many bored and unfocused episodes and she kept on with her curriculum.
My boys noticed a difference in their focus when they had to do a standardized test in school which was very similar to Cogmed, the program Ms Massrat used. They happily exclaimed, “we were the best in the class because of working on Cogmed.”
She is very communicative with the parents, frequently updating us with the boys’ progress. Having Ms. Massrat is excellent for any student, with or without learning differences.
