Community & Advocacy

Community & Advocacy

Education extends far beyond classrooms and offices. Real change happens when knowledge is shared openly, when families feel supported, and when teachers have access to the tools they need to reach every child. My community work grew out of this belief, a responsibility to give back, to make expertise accessible, and to ensure that guidance does not remain behind closed doors.

Through free groups, webinars, teacher trainings, awareness talks, and digital platforms, I try to create spaces where parents, educators, and communities can come together, learn, and grow. These initiatives matter deeply to me because they build bridges — between knowledge and practice, between families and schools, and most importantly, between children and the opportunities they deserve.

This is not about offering services; it is about creating a culture where inclusion, awareness, and well-being are shared values. My hope is that by working with the community, I can help shift mindsets, spark conversations, and open doors for children who might otherwise be overlooked.

The Prodigy Program – Free Internship for Psychology Graduates

The Prodigy Program is a one-week internship designed for psychology graduates to gain practical exposure to the field of educational psychology. The program introduces participants to psychometric tools, classroom observations, and the basics of working with children who have special educational needs. It offers a structured opportunity to see how theory connects to practice and from conducting assessments to supporting families and collaborating with schools.

The internship is offered free of charge and aims to give psychology graduates a meaningful first step into professional practice. Many participants find that the experience helps them build confidence, deepen their understanding, and gain clarity about their future career path.

Immersion Program: Paid Internship for Psychology Graduates

The Immersion Program is a year-long, paid internship for psychology graduates who want hands-on experience in educational psychology and special needs education.  Interns are placed in schools and assigned to support one SEN student throughout the academic year. This arrangement is not only a powerful learning opportunity for graduates, but also a valuable resource for parents, who gain the support of a trained professional to assist their child in school on a daily basis. Guided directly by me, interns implement individualized learning strategies, assist with behavior management, and provide consistent classroom support while developing their own professional skills. The program is also a resource for the community, creating a bridge between schools, families, and future psychologists by ensuring students receive dedicated, evidence-based support. Interns receive a stipend, monthly mentorship, professional development training, and a work experience certificate upon completion, making this program a meaningful investment for both the interns and the wider educational community.

CPD Training for Teachers: Identifying Learning Disorders in the Classroom

To strengthen early intervention in schools, I do conduct several rounds of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training for teachers on how to identify learning disorders in the classroom. These free sessions are designed to raise awareness and equip teachers with practical tools to recognize signs of learning difficulties such as dyslexia, ADHD, and other challenges that often go unnoticed. By helping teachers understand the red flags and the steps to take when concerns arise, this training empowers schools to respond quickly and effectively, ensuring that children receive timely assessments and support. Offering this training free of charge is part of my ongoing commitment to build awareness and promote inclusion in schools.

Middle East Parents Resource Group

The Middle East Parents Resource Group is a free WhatsApp community I have created to support parents of children with learning challenges and special educational needs. Through this group, I run short parenting courses, share practical resources, and provide guidance to help families navigate their children’s educational and emotional needs. The group also serves as a network where parents are connected to trusted professionals, including doctors, pediatricians, therapists, and special educators, ensuring they have access to the right support at the right time. This initiative has grown into a safe, supportive space where families across the region can learn, connect, and feel less alone on their journey.

WhatsApp Channel for Teachers

Through my WhatsApp Channel, I run short, practical courses designed to help teachers strengthen their knowledge and classroom practice. Educators can access free resources, training materials, and tools that support them in identifying learning difficulties, managing behavior, and fostering inclusive classrooms. This channel makes professional development easily accessible, giving teachers ongoing guidance they can apply directly in their work with students.
